The place

In the historic centre of La Paz, a 1910 mission-style villa joined to a contemporary extension — a stylish base for exploring Baja California Sur. Parisian studio Jaune dressed the 32 rooms in dark wood furnishings and local Mexican materials, each bathroom laid in red ceramic tile.

Beside the new wing, the pool, flanked by orange-striped lounge beds. There is a compact fitness centre, a spa, and a central courtyard threading patios and gardens together. The beach sits directly across from the hotel.

The in-house restaurant moves between dining room, pergola and rooftop, its Greek-inspired menu always changing.
