The place

A 1920s ranch in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, revived by studio ROAM into a five-star retreat. Bishop’s Lodge spreads across 317 acres outside Santa Fe. Its 100 rooms take their cues from the land — earthy palettes, artisanal furnishings, rich textures, Navajo rugs, and private terraces that open to the hills.

At the center, an outdoor pool ringed by day beds and cabanas. A fitness center, steam room, sauna, and treatment rooms wait nearby; beyond them, the scenery of the estate itself.

Dinner belongs to SkyFire, chef Dean Fearing’s wood-fired grill, where rich Mexican flavors meet modern technique.
