Hôtel Norman

The place

Near the Arc de Triomphe, in a modern corner building, Hôtel Norman takes its cues from 1960s Paris and the American artist Norman Ives. Designer Thomas Vidalenc filled it with curated vintage finds, abstract patterns, and typographic prints — a hotel that thinks in letterforms.

The 37 rooms and suites play a jazzy chord of olive, brown, and mustard: mid-century modern furnishing, geometric carpets, wool curtains, dark wooden floors, flashes of jewel tones. The Terrace Suite and Sky Suites climb higher, each with a private balcony or rooftop terrace and the Eiffel Tower in view.

There is a spa with a heated plunge pool, a sauna, a fitness room, and a range of treatments. At Thiou, chef Apiradee Thirakomen cooks Thai cuisine with French ingredients, al fresco. The cozy bar lounge covers the rest, from morning coffee to Asian-inspired cocktails after dark.
