Palácio Principe Real
The place
A pink mansion from the 1870s, set in Príncipe Real. Palácio Principe Real was reimagined by its owners around what was already there — the grand staircase, the stucco work, the tall ceilings.
Each of the 25 rooms and suites differs slightly, all held in a soothing white palette with refined furniture. Portuguese linens on the beds, Byredo in the bathrooms, Dyson hairdryers in the drawers.
The quiet center is outside: a 1,400-square-meter terrace garden with an Asian-style pool, ample space to lounge, and regular yoga classes. EVOO, the restaurant, keeps to seasonal plant-based cooking; a bar sits just beside it.
