The place
Chambers Hotel sits just south of Central Park in Midtown Manhattan, behind a neutral stone facade. David Rockwell designed the double-decked lobby, and it shows — dark wooden panels, velvet jewel-tone seating, dim lighting, a fireplace holding the room together.
The 77 rooms and suites carry the same warmth. A neutral palette with retro-inspired furnishing, wooden floors, artwork, and chrome touches; sumptuous bedding, large windows, a mosaic-tiled bathroom, a TV with Roku streaming.
A well-appointed gym and a lounging-and-working space round out the house. The restaurant, Felice 56 — helmed by chef Filip Pop Andrejev — serves Tuscan cuisine built on the best local produce, with an Italian coffee bar and a cocktail lounge alongside.
