The place

A former furniture showroom from 1916, remade as a sleek modern hotel in downtown El Paso. Original artwork hangs throughout — an expansive collection threaded through the public spaces.

The 42 spacious rooms and suites carry the same restraint: white and light grey, crisp furnishing, marble in generous measure. Beds are dressed in Stearns & Foster and Sferra linens; the bath products are Malin + Goetz.

On the ground floor, Taft-Diaz serves contemporary Mexican with an American touch, all day. And when the day is done, the on-site spa waits — a float room, a steam room, Vichy showers.
