The place

Timbri Hotel San Francisco occupies a triangular building in the Theater District, its faceted facade catching the light at odd angles. Inside, the 4-star design hotel keeps quiet: white surfaces, wood, a few modernist touches.

The 236 rooms follow the same restraint. White oak furniture beneath exposed concrete ceilings, textured headboards, Apple TV, Cowshed bath products.

There is a modern gym, and three places to eat and drink. Rise Over Run, the rooftop bar and kitchen, serves a fusion menu. Dark Bar is smaller and dimmer, with Asian-inspired drinks and vegetarian bites.
