The place

On the north east coast of Sardinia, at Cannigione, rustic terracotta houses step down a hillside. This is a secluded retreat for the Mediterranean sun — 64 rooms, suites, and villas in warm earthy tones and natural materials, each with a private terrace and a few playful touches.

There are two pools: a large main pool, and a heated infinity pool that holds the island in its view. A glass-enclosed gym looks out at the same scenery. Body treatments and a shared boat tour extend the days.
