The place
Baby Grand Hotel arrived in Coronado, San Diego, in May 2026, bringing a maximalist streak to the Crown City. Post Company designed it around surprises — a 20-foot waterfall, exotic Moroccan fixtures. The 31 guest rooms lean into vintage extravagance: over-the-top furniture, a clamshell headboard, patterns pulled from nature.
Many rooms hold a large marble bathroom with a freestanding bathtub. Three culinary spaces came with the opening. Night Hawk sits beside the waterfall, an outdoor restaurant cooking Mediterranean fare over open fire; the Cafe covers drinks all day; and Fallen Empire, an oyster bar, stays hidden until you find it.
