The place

A burgundy Queen Anne villa near the center of Asheville, built in the nineteenth century and still carrying its old-world lines. Inside, vintage and contemporary furniture share the rooms without argument.

The 14 accommodations are each their own — some in a soothing white palette, others in moss green. Albers, among the more contemporary suites, is a favorite. Plush king bedding throughout.

Mornings bring a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast. There is no restaurant or bar on-site, but Asheville has plenty — Pack’s Tavern, with its fresh comfort food, among them.
