The place

An 18th-century farmhouse above Torri del Benaco, remade as a quiet hideaway on Lake Garda. Behind the stone facade, the rooms are rustic and spare. Four suites, each one-of-a-kind: natural materials, a large living area, a full kitchen, a private outdoor space.

Every suite holds a marble bathtub, indoors or out, set before an unbroken view of the lake. Elsewhere, a heated outdoor pool, a garden with sauna and cold plunge, a place for yoga in the open air. There is no restaurant. Instead, a farmer's breakfast arrives each morning — homemade, locally sourced, unhurried.
