Sils Maria, Switzerland
Chesa Marchetta
The place
Chesa Marchetta sits in Sils Maria, in the upper reaches of the Engadin valley, a short drive from St. Moritz. Thirteen rooms, each designed by Luis Laplace, hold traditional Engadin furniture alongside work by local artists and artisans — a house that keeps its own history close.
The restaurant seats forty-six and follows the seasons, a quiet marriage of Italian and Swiss cooking under Maria and Christina Godly. Lunch is taken upstairs in the bar; dinner, in the dining room, nightly.
The hotel opens for two seasons — summer from June to November, winter from December to March.
