Glass Light Hotel & Gallery
The place
The Royster Building went up in Norfolk’s Historic District in 1912; its facade has been lovingly preserved. Inside, black and white takes over — contemporary furniture set against exceptional glass art, light moving through everything.
The 113 rooms and suites are oversized and studio-like: white and wood, chic furnishing, and pieces from the Perry Glass Art Collection. Frette linens on the beds, marble in the bathrooms, an Illy machine for the morning coffee, free wifi throughout.
The hotel’s own gallery gathers curated glass work from renowned artists across the globe, and a well-appointed fitness center sits on-site. On the ground floor, Glass Light the restaurant serves a French-inspired menu.
