The place

On the coast of S'Agaró since 1932. Hostal de La Gavina is Costa Brava old-world — a Noucentista-inspired building that has kept its timeless composure for nearly a century.

The 76 rooms draw on Mediterranean, Imperial, and Elizabethan styles: antiques, patterned silks, Italian marble in the bathrooms, Egyptian linen on the beds.

Days pass between the outdoor pool and the heated indoor one with its jacuzzi, the sauna, the steam room, two red clay tennis courts. Yoga and pilates happen on the verdant grounds. Chef José Pulido curates the kitchens — from sophisticated fine dining down to breezy plates by the pool.
