The place

A 1920s Moorish Revival lodge in the center of Waco, restored with an Art Deco temper. Behind the storied facade, the original arches and wooden beams remain, and the light stays low.

The 33 rooms and suites keep to muted ivory, olive green, and orange — vintage furnishings, brass fixtures, Le Labo in the bath, deep bedding.

Downstairs, a dim library for reading. On the roof, Bertie's serves seasonal dishes; The Brasserie turns Southern classics with a Texas accent.
