The place

A 1918 bungalow-fronted building in West Hollywood, near Beverly Hills, recently named a one-Michelin-star hotel. English designer Rita Konig arranged the interiors like a European home — bespoke pieces, bold patterns, antiques, art.

The 23 rooms and suites are quieter: warm beige, wood, Italian brass lamps, patterned curtains, a marble bath. One carriage room is painted a deep bungalow blue.

Mornings begin in the living room with a complimentary continental breakfast — fresh pastries, fruit. There is also a lobby lounge, a colorful living room, and a rooftop deck above the street.
