Hotel Herman K
The place
A transformer station from 1963, designed by Hans Christian Hansen, converted to quieter work. Behind the black metal facade, the lobby of Hotel Herman K keeps to the dark — concrete walls, modern furnishing, and a large 3D-printed installation by artist Pio Diaz.
The 31 rooms and suites turn the contrast around: white and neutral, with sleek furnishing, exposed concrete, marble touches, and a futuristic-looking bedframe. Bose speakers, Dyson hairdryers, organic toiletries. The penthouse suite claims its own rooftop terrace.
Breakfast is laid out each morning in the historic transformer halls. By evening the soaring lobby doubles as a bar, and a sun-drenched terrace — greenery, loungers — covers the hours in between.
