The place

An Italianate building of 1929 in the Sydney CBD, designed by architect Virgil Dante Cizzio and carefully refurbished since. The Italian accent survived the works; it runs through everything new.

The 82 rooms and suites hold to white, red and gold — vintage-inspired furniture, velvet here, marble there, a glamour that feels remembered rather than applied. Bespoke bedding and IIUVO soigné toiletries finish the picture.

The kitchen keeps the same faith. Bar Morris, open throughout the day, is an intimate Italian-inspired wine bar and restaurant: classic dishes, an expansive list of wines, proper cocktails.
