On Oahu's Gold Coast, right at the sand. Kaimana Beach Hotel revived a 1963 building, and the spirit of that era lingers — a sunny, playful lobby full of color, cool objects, and artwork. The 122 rooms and suites keep a classic aloha charm: wooden furniture, tropical wallpapers, private balconies.

Of the three places to eat and drink, Hau Tree serves a breezy all-day menu. Kaimana Coffee Co handles the first coffee of the day, and the snacks after.
