The place

Alohilani Resort sits on the front row of Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, the Pacific filling every horizon. The Rockwell Group designed the lobby as contemporary with native Hawaiian touches, and anchored it with a 280,000-gallon Oceanarium, its slow drift of fish setting the pace of the room. The 839 guest rooms and suites keep to serene neutral tones: crisp furnishings, private balconies, well-appointed amenities.

The heart of the resort is its 17,000-square-foot pool deck, where an infinity pool blurs into the ocean beyond. A poolside bar and private cabanas wait nearby. There are several places to eat and drink on-site. Morimoto Asia, the signature restaurant, serves vibrant Pan-Asian cuisine; Longboard Club handles breakfast and all-day bites.
