The place
In Houston's Montrose district, a 1920s mansion and a modern high-rise share a name. Rottet Studio revived the mansion in a vintage French spirit, taking cues from the original La Colombe d'Or — the tower answers with clean, minimal lines.
Just 32 suites, spread across mansion, tower, and garden bungalows. The mansion suites, each named for a prominent artist, are the standouts: antique furniture, restored parquet underfoot, artwork and objects placed with care.
An outdoor pool looks toward the skyline. Gardens, a social lounge, a modern gym. Tonight & Tomorrow cooks French bistro fare from fresh seasonal ingredients; Bar No. 3 handles the drinks.
