The place

A Spanish Colonial mansion from the early twentieth century, moments from the sand in Carmel-by-the-Sea. New York studio Post Company reimagined the interiors in a moody vintage register.

The 75 rooms and suites feel nostalgic and close — neutral tones, dark wood, vintage-inspired furnishing, curated objects that reward a second look. Le Labo in the bath, Kassatex robes on the hook.

At the heart of it all, a garden and a tranquil pool lined with striped loungers. Bud's Bar & Restaurant pours signature cocktails beside an expanded menu, and every morning a champagne breakfast buffet is laid out at the Library and Terrace.
