The place
A slim, industrial-inspired high-rise in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, just east of Chelsea. With Studio MAI, the interiors turn warm and wooden — the lobby thick with plants, raw wood, bohemian fabrics, and metal accents.
The 108 rooms and suites follow suit: reclaimed walnut floors underfoot, exposed concrete ceilings overhead, Japanese shibori fabrics, bronze fixtures, curated objects. Bellino linens and MALIN+GOETZ toiletries round things out.
For a smaller hotel, it eats and drinks well. Good Behavior, the lush rooftop lounge, mixes Tiki-inspired cocktails against expansive city views; Debajo keeps things laid-back with tapas; a coffee shop and lobby bar cover the hours between.
