The place

Beside Lake Montauk, in the Hamptons, sixteen acres of harborfront hold an unusual quiet. Montauk Yacht Club began life in 1928; its 107 guest rooms are now reimagined in modern coastal terms — whitewashed timber, elegant furniture, subtle navy accents, and a private balcony or patio apiece.

Wellness stretches across the estate: two outdoor pools and an indoor one, a private beach, a fitness center, padel and tennis courts. At Ocean Club, the flagship restaurant, chef Jarad McCarroll's open kitchen grills in the South African braai tradition. The market and the pool bar cover the casual hours.
