The place

On the northern tip of Hamilton Island, sixty wooden pavilions scattered through tranquil bushland, the Great Barrier Reef all around. Each is modern and tastefully furnished, with a scenic sundeck and a stone bathroom; many keep a private infinity pool of their own.

At the centre, a large outdoor pool holds a panoramic view of the ocean. Pebble Beach, a modern fitness centre, and a holistic spa are all within reach, and the reef itself can be met by private charter, scenic flight, or diving.

At the table, Pebble Beach specialises in refined, seasonally inspired dishes; Long Pavilion keeps the menu more relaxed.
