The place

Quercus is a ranch retreat on 3,800 acres of Georgia forest, lakes, and rolling hills, less than an hour's drive from Atlanta. There are only four cabins — one and two bedrooms — each a contemporary reading of the traditional farmhouse, finished in botanical hues with refined furniture and a spacious porch for the slow hours.

A stay comes with guided time on the land. Fishing, kayaking, tours of the garden and farm, riding. Private yoga sessions and massages can be arranged inside your suite.

Dining falls to Uberto, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Ryan Smith. The tasting menu takes its cues from the surroundings — an exquisite, quiet close to the day.
