The place

A beige 19th-century building just across from the Piazza del Duomo, in Milan. Patricia Urquiola shaped the interiors — playful furniture, curated objects, colour used with intent.

The 85 rooms and suites come in blue, green, or orange, with custom Cassina Contract furniture, brass fixtures, and white grid-patterned ceilings overhead. The penthouse keeps a private terrace with a bathtub in the open air.

Breakfast runs as a buffet until noon; the lounge bar carries drinks and bites into the night. A compact fitness room, and plenty of cozy corners for working or simply staying put.
