The place

A white Neoclassical building in the centre of Milan, once a family residence. The interior is drawn in white and black, with contemporary furniture by Alessandro Bianchi and quiet flashes of green marble.

The 43 rooms and suites stay crisp and pale — herringbone oak floors, plaster cornices, handcrafted brass lamps. Carrara marble in the bathroom, Egyptian linens on the bed. The suites each open onto a lush private terrace with loungers.

There is a fitness room, and a rooftop with places to sit. Senato Caffè spans the interior and an idyllic patio, serving fresh drinks and a simple menu of quality local ingredients. A separate bar pours Franciacorta.
