Shophouse 26
The place
Shophouse 26 hides inside an old shophouse in Bangkok’s Phra Kanong neighborhood, transformed by Studio PATH and architect Aurapim Phongsirivech. The interior is fully refurbished, yet certain original features remain — the exposed walls hold the building’s history in plain sight.
There are only five rooms, each designed on its own terms. White and minimal, with sleek modern furnishing, dark wood, a small plant or two. Plush bedding and free wifi see to the basics.
In keeping with the building’s shophouse past, the first floor belongs to Singlelane. Open throughout the day, the open-air cafe pours ever-changing specialty coffee and serves refreshing light dishes built on Thai ingredients and techniques.
