The place
The Mustang Blu occupies a narrow Flatiron-style building on the western side of Bangkok, its grand ivory facade intact. Once a bank, then abandoned for decades, the property has been brought back without erasing its age — the interior leans into a chic rustic charm.
Each of the 10 rooms is one of a kind. Natural wooden floors, antique furniture, hand-curated objects, a free-standing clawfoot bathtub. Exposed brick and bare concrete ceilings keep the building’s history in the room with you.
Breakfast is complimentary, taken in the museum-like cafe on the ground floor, which serves local-inspired dishes and drinks through the day. First-time visitors to Bangkok receive a curated city map of restaurants, bars and galleries.
