The place

A red brick rail hub from 1914, reworked with creative studio Looney & Associates into a design hotel tuned to Memphis music. In the soaring lobby, a 30-foot wall holds 3,500 records.

The 123 rooms and suites take their cues from old train cabins: cozy mid-century lines, industrial-inspired decor, curated artwork, the original windows still letting in the light. Each carries a custom Eggleston Works speaker, William Roam bath products, a Keurig.

Bishop, from chefs Andrew Ticer and Michael Hudman, cooks French brasserie fare. 8 & Sand — bar, lounge, music room — pours craft cocktails. A fitness center, fully equipped.
