The place
The Mayson joins two old Docklands buildings — an 1860 townhouse and an 1870 warehouse — reimagined by studio ODOS. The historic facades were left standing; a steel and glass extension now rises from the warehouse roof.
The 93 rooms and suites divide by building. Warehouse rooms run industrial and modern; townhouse rooms lean vintage. All carry a SMEG fridge, a TV with Netflix, Grafton Barber toiletries, and a Dyson hairdryer.
Then the thermal facilities: a heated indoor hydrotherapy pool, a cedar sauna, a steam room. There is a fitness center and a barber shop, and of the four in-house venues, Ryleigh's serves steak from the rooftop, the skyline laid out around it.
