The place

A former 1960s motel in Point Loma, San Diego, refurbished by Eclectic Bowery — the studio behind La Playa Hotel — into something quietly mid-century. The chic motel aesthetic remains, sharpened by unique vintage decor.

The 23 rooms and suites are warm and simple: white walls, wood, mid-century furnishing, bespoke artwork. Parachute Home bedding, MoonCloth Designs toiletries, Finery robes.

At the center, an oyster-shaped outdoor pool sets the pace. Beside it, the cocktail bar and Charles + Dinorah, the in-house restaurant with a seasonal menu. Mitch’s Seafood waits at the waterfront, a stone’s throw away.
