Steps from the Mediterranean, The Setai occupies an antique building dating to the 12th century, converted with care by ARA Design and Feigin Architects. Much of the original fabric remains.
The 120 oversized rooms and suites keep to a neutral palette, lifted by the red of a beautiful Turkish carpet. In some, exposed walls carry the building's history plainly. Each has deluxe king bedding, a granite bathroom, bespoke toiletries, a TV with Netflix, free wifi.
On the roof, a pool and sundeck face nothing but sea. There is a fully equipped gym, a dry sauna, a Turkish bath. Kishle Restaurant plates fine Mediterranean cooking from fresh local ingredients; the Japanese Food Bar keeps to authentic sushi.
