The place

Anvil Hotel is a small mountain retreat in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, not far from Yellowstone. Studio Tack reworked a navy mid-century motel into a modern take on the traditional mountain lodge. The 50 rooms are warm and rustic — wooden benches by Tretiak Works, Hedge House side tables, a bespoke Woolrich blanket folded at the foot of the bed.

The essentials are covered: plush bedding, C.O. Bigelow toiletries, a TV, free wifi. On the ground floor, Glorietta cooks over wood fire — a cozy Italian trattoria of handmade pastas, the smoke drifting toward the mountains. Skiing, hiking, and fly fishing wait just beyond the door.
