BnA_WALL
The place
In Nihombashi, a small hotel that took over two years to make, because it was made with fourteen Tokyo artists. BnA_WALL — named among the best-designed hotels by FRAME — feels less like lodging than like sleeping inside a gallery. A share of every booking goes back to the contributing artists.
Each of the 26 rooms is a permanent art installation. In The Room With A Pink Carpet, by Colliu, everything holds to a pale pink with contemporary objects and artwork; elsewhere, other worlds. The basics are quietly there — plush bedding, free wifi.
The basement doubles as an exhibition and experimental space for art productions. And STAND BnA, open through the day, is a lively bistro for a drink and something light.
