The place
An 11th-century palace on a cliff edge in Ravello, high above the shimmer of the Mediterranean. Inside, the rooms keep a Neapolitan-era decadence — 50 of them, in soft neutrals, with antique furniture, marble bathrooms, and a private balcony each.
The infinity pool is the still point of the place: a sun-kissed terrace, the Lattari Mountains straight ahead. A massage in the garden, or the open-air fitness space, fills the afternoon. Of the four places to eat and drink, Belvedere — under chef Armando Aristarco — reworks Campania cuisine, while Caruso keeps to traditional Neapolitan pizza.
