The place
Deep in the protected Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, Casa Chablé sits quietly between the forest and the ocean, built in the traditional Yucatecan way so as not to interrupt either.
Five rooms in the main villa, five stand-alone bungalows. Paulina Morán shaped the interiors from tropical wood, natural local materials and artisanal pieces; the bungalows add a private terrace with a moon shower.
The beach shimmers a few steps off — kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling. At K'ÚUM, chef Jorge Vallejo takes an innovative hand to local and international plates, in the open air.
