The place
An 18th-century ivory building in Monti, Rome's oldest district. Opened in 2024 and designed by Laura Gonzalez, Casa Monti feels like an artist's residence — bohemian, layered with antiques, Italian craftsmanship, and commissioned works.
The 36 rooms and suites are rich with color: custom prints, playful patterns, vintage-inspired furniture, touches of wood and marble. Susanne Kaufmann toiletries in the bathroom, a Marshall speaker on the shelf. Some suites open to a private terrace.
On the roof, a Roman-style jacuzzi and a scenic terrace anchor the spa, alongside its treatment rooms. Below, chef Umberto Tuccio's al-fresco Casa Monti Ristorante keeps to authentic Roman cuisine, and the ground-floor bar pours cocktails and coffee in equal measure.
