The place

A Renaissance-era villa on a secluded hillside above Florence. Envisioned by ArchFlorence, Collegio Alla Querce sets vintage design against modern Italian touches — 83 spacious rooms in earth and ochre, dressed with refined furniture, rich fabrics, and curated antiques and artwork.

Among the Baroque gardens lies one of the city's longest outdoor pools. The Aelia Spa keeps its own rhythm: aromatic treatments, a spa terrace, a gym open around the clock. In a glass-enclosed garden room, chef Nicola Zamperetti's La Gamella turns old-world Italian flavors gently toward the present.
