The place

A French neoclassical building from 1928, near Chapultepec Park. With Parisian designer India Mahdavi, Condesa DF gave the old bones an elegant contemporary charm — the kind that never raises its voice.

Forty serene rooms and suites in white and wood. Mid-Century furnishings, stone tiles, French windows opening onto a private balcony. Rain showers and Malin + Goetz in the bath.

Two places to eat. On the rooftop terrace, chef Keisuke Harada composes a Japanese menu with light Mexican touches; at El Patio, a casual fusion menu moves easily between Mexican and French.
