The place
A 1903 school convent in Surry Hills, its heritage red brick left well intact. Inside, Crystalbrook Albion moves between Art Deco lines and modern restraint, with floral prints and artwork threaded through the space.
The 35 rooms and suites each take their own shape — vintage-inspired pieces, a touch of velvet, plush bedding, a smart TV, fast internet. Nothing raised above a murmur.
On the roof, a landscaped terrace opens to the city. A glass of wine as the light goes. There is no restaurant on-site; lively Surry Hills, all around, more than covers it.
