The place

In Surry Hills, a brown brick building that once held the headquarters of Paramount Picture Studios in the 1940s. Architecture studio Breathe reworked it with an industrial warehouse sensibility — exposed walls, ample brass.

The 29 rooms and suites are each shaped by the structure of the original building, so no two repeat. The industrial charm continues inside, joined by a terrazzo bathroom, Aesop toiletries, a TV, and a curated minibar.

Food runs deep here. Poly, in the basement, works the grill; Paramount Coffee Project pours specialty coffee alongside classic all-day meals. And the building's old screening room lives on as Golden Age Cinema & Bar — drinks, films, live music.
