The place

Three historic buildings in Budapest, drawn together in late 2022 under the hand of Italian designer Piero Lissoni. The Dorothea holds contemporary design and old detail in the same breath.

Its 216 rooms and suites are quietly worked — refined furnishing, custom prints, traces of Hungarian folk tradition threaded through.

The indoor pool is the room you remember: dark marble walls, low light, plush lounge beds at the water's edge. A fitness center, steam room, and sauna sit alongside. Of the three kitchens, Pavilion reimagines Hungarian cooking; Alelí keeps to the Mediterranean.
