The place

A 15th-century sheep farm on Iceland's Troll Peninsula, remade as a secluded retreat that stays deliberately off-grid. Days here are for the outdoors; nights, when they cooperate, for the northern lights.

The 13 rooms are each their own, drawn from traditional mountain lodges — Icelandic in character, furnished mid-century modern, finished with curated details.

The 5,000-square-foot spa is the deep exhale: a geothermal pool indoors and out, hot tubs, flotation tanks, a sauna, a steam room, three treatment rooms. A fully equipped gym and yoga studio keep the routine intact. The kitchen cooks modern farm-to-table, from local ingredients.
