The place

Set against the lava fields of Mount Hengill, a stark concrete form outside Reykjavik. The lobby's floor-to-ceiling windows hold the whole landscape.

Nine rooms and suites, kept to white, grey, and wood. Much of the furniture is recycled or repurposed — sustainability, quietly practiced. Comfortable bedding, Sóley Organics toiletries, little else needed.

Outside, a heated thermal pool faces the panorama. Silfra cooks contemporary Icelandic dishes, and the Northern Lights Bar pours drinks in a low, comfortable room.
