The place

A black contemporary building on the waterfront near Reykjavik's Old Harbour, open since November 2021. Inside, a warm Scandinavian register — cozy wood, the occasional pop of color.

The 253 rooms and suites are drawn in ash wood, pale grey oak, and concrete, softened by bespoke Italian furniture and faux fur rugs. Floor-to-ceiling windows, deluxe bedding, Le Labo toiletries, a Bang & Olufsen speaker.

Wellness runs deep here: a thermal plunge pool, hammam, steam room, sauna, and treatment rooms, with a state-of-the-art fitness center besides. At TIDES, fresh local seafood is cooked with Nordic technique.
