The place
Two buildings on Reykjavik's Old Harbour, their facade a wash of plum and yellow. Inside, the register shifts — a loft-like lobby of raw concrete and black metal, industrial and calm.
The 106 rooms and suites hold the same line. Exposed concrete walls, dark wood, caramel leather headboards under industrial lamps. VALHÖLL bedding, Sóley organic bath products, Sjöstrand coffee.
There is a sauna, and a gym with free weights and machines. LeKock & Tail serves street food through the day. DEIG, the bakery, makes its pastries by hand.
