The place

A cluster of old concrete shophouses in Bangkok’s Banthatthong neighborhood, part restored, part left raw. Walls stay exposed, the brutalist bones on show, softened by greenery that weaves across the buildings.

The 19 rooms and suites are quieter. White and wood, minimal furnishing, a small plant here, a trace of concrete there. Plush bedding and free wifi cover the essentials.

GalileOasis is as much a cultural hub as a hotel — an intimate art space, a theatre, boutiques, the occasional workshop. Piccolo Vicolo pours coffee for the neighborhood, while Fishmonger, a casual American restaurant, serves burgers and fish and chips.
