An Art Deco-inspired building on the quiet waterfront of Amsterdam's western harbor, built for staying a while. Behind the red brick, the atrium turns eclectic and colorful.

The 82 apartments run from studios to two bedrooms — retro furnishing, wooden floors, concrete ceilings, primary colors in careful doses. Each has a fully equipped kitchen, which changes how a city feels.

There is a fitness center, a sauna, a steam room, a foot bath, even a barbershop. Vessel, the all-day brasserie, keeps things casual and al fresco.
